How we work
DoW deploys its project team and engineers and also works closely with local Artisans and contractors to build water wells and provide continuous support to rural communities.
The Process we follow
Identifying project area
Solving a water problem starts with identifying areas that are desperately in need of clean water supply – based on community/professional recommendations and internal assessment.
Feasibility study/How DoW chooses specific site
Taking into consideration of geographical feasibility, active community participation, accessibility of the site and need assessment, DoW together with responsible water bureau conduct feasibility study to select water well locations and type of technology to be used.
Implementation
After careful study and once technology to be used is identified, Dow will deploy its project team and work closely with local artisans and contractors to successfully build wells.

How we assure sustainability
Sustainability is a core component of DOW’s work – the aim of all of our projects is to bring about sustainable change in access and behavior through creating a sense of ownership and active community participation. DOW also establishes and builds the capacity of the community-led Water and Sanitation Committee structures, and creates proper linkage with local government administrative organs to ensure the continuity of the project.

Continued Support
To ensure the project achieved its intended purpose, DoW maintains a continuous relationship with the impacted communities. Through establishing and supporting effective water management structures, we provide educational trainings on water well maintenance to further equip communities with knowledge and information on good hygiene and sanitation practices.

Climate resilience Water Safety Plan (CR-WSP):
DoW also works towards improving the communities’ ability to maintain safety of the water supply systems by implementing a new approach named Climate resilience Water Safety Plan (CR-WSP) which is a step by step approach to identify, prioritize and manage risks to drinking water safety and its management to protect drinking-water quality before problem occurs.
